So the game is afoot perhaps. Do you still think this mess is an accident? The current financial situation is either because of a broad scale incomprehensible incompetence, or it was deliberate. You decide. These quotes hint to something less pleasant. I hope they're wrong, otherwise we've been led into a nice big hole and I don't like the idea of climbing us out of this one while those who created this are still digging us deeper in.
“Give me control over a nation’s currency, and I care not who makes the laws.”
~ Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1743-1812)
"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed and hence, clamorous to be led to safety, by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins - all of them imaginary."
~ Henry Louis Mencken
"We tell the people what they need to know, not what they want to know."
~ Frank Sesno, CNN News
"Our government has kept us in a perpetual state of fear - kept us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor-with the cry of grave national emergency. Always there has been some terrible evil at home or some monstrous foreign power that was going to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it ..."
~ General Douglas MacArthur, 1957
“Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.” (From: A Little Book in C Major)
~ Henry Louis Mencken (1880-1956)
“Giving money and power to Government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.”
~ P.J. O'Rourke
"The issue which has swept down the centuries and which will have to be fought sooner or later is the People v. The Banks."
~ Lord Acton, Lord Chief Justice of England, 1875.
"There is no more direct way to capture control of a nation than through its credit (money) system."
~ Mr. Phillip A. Benson, President of the American Bankers' Association, June 8 1939.
“It’s only when the tide goes out that you learn who’s been swimming naked.”
~ Warren Buffett
“A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain.”
~ Mark Twain
"We are greatful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promise of discretion for almost 40 years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But now the world is more sophisicated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supra national sovereignty of an international elite is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries"
~ David Rockerfeller. CFR. June 1991.
"The real rulers in Washington are invisible and exercise power from behind the scenes."
~Felix Frankfurter. US Supreme Court Justice.
"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow evening."
~Henry Ford.
"You need to get permission from the government to do almost everything. And that is the definition of a police state."
~Ron Paul.
"I sincerely believe the banking institutions having the issuing power of money, are more dangerous to liberty than standing armies."
~Thomas Jefferson.
"Who controls money controls the world."
~Henry Kissinger. CFR.
"The government claims the power to seize all financial instruments: currency, gold, silver, and everything else if they deem an emergency exists."
~Treasury Department. August 12, 2005.
"The new world order will be built...an end run on national sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece will accomplish much more than the old fashioned frontal assault."
~CFR Journal. 1974, page 558.
"We shall have world government, whether or not we like it. The only question is whether World Government will be achieved by conquest of consent."
~Paul Warburg. CFR and architect of the Federal Reserve. System. February 17th. 1950.
"World events do not occur by accident. They are made to happen, whether it is to do with national issues or commerce; and most of them are staged and managed by those who hold the purse strings."
~ Denis Healey. (Former British Defense Minister)

The roller coasters
So, we've got 24 hours of news media, addicted to constant talking and sensationalism. They're all at it. They're blabbering about the economy, probably making the stock market worse in the process by instigating panic and making the roller coaster we see worse. They're going nuts over the election. Too much information and mis-information. Few are neutral, as they really should be, so why don't you guys just shut the hell up and give our ears a break. All this chatter is primarily for your collective benefit, not ours. You don't help. Why have politicians and their talking heads on TV? They're spinning, not reporting news. Give it a rest already.

the market stupid
...or is it that the market is stupid? Don't know really. People were enthusiastic because we had a 900 point raise one day, forgetting that in the great depression, this happened a lot. The roller coaster ride is what caused most of the uncertainty and associated problems. Wow people are short sighted some times.
On a brighter note, I passed my pilot's exam today. Saweeet. At least that was some good news while the markets plunged again.
So, enjoy the ride, as there's definitely going to be one.

God. Good grief.
I just watched a small bit of a program on the History Channel that was talking about the end of the world. You know, light hearted Saturday afternoon entertainment. I watched this while taking a break from studying and boy did it take my mind off my revision. But good grief, those fundamentalists are nut jobs....and there are plenty of them in most of the major religions. These guys think that because it's written in, say, the Bible, then it means it's true. The authors were politically motivated and were trying to control their fragmented and violent populations. As Lewis Black says, the were trying to stop people marrying their camels. Not only that, but they thought the world was flat and that they were not only the most important people on the planet, but were the center of the universe created for just them....and we think they were wise?!?! (Someone should have told them about the Chinese empire, that had been flourishing for thousands of years when they wrote their BS and maybe pointed them to other vast and successful civilizations that had already come and gone before their time). Give me a break. But besides, if the world is ending, you crazy, blinkered idiots, isn't that what you want anyway, with all this Rapture nonsense? So, why are you also worried and fretting about it? Nope, it doesn't make much sense to me either. Each of the major religions seems to think it's right and the chosen religion of God, who or whatever God is anyway. Someone's got to be wrong. Good luck sorting that one out between yourselves, but please don't bother me with your answer. As Bill Hicks said wisely, "God save us from religion." Oh, and if you're a Christian and are pissed at this little piece, then do what Christ would have done and forgive me, before shutting the hell up.
But then there was another program on TV last week called "The world after humans." I don't think the planet would skip a beat if the predictions came true and our numbers were drastically reduced, or even disappeared altogether. The planet might even be happier without us poisoning it, so Mother Earth could sigh with relief and get to work evolving something more worthy of this lush place we once called home.

WTF
"Snowballing sell-off spreads worldwide." Yahoo headlines.
But here's a more salient perspective on the world by people far smarter than you and I.
"Nothing just happens in politics. If something happens you can be sure it was planned that way." Franklin D. Rosevelt.
"The problem isn't a shortage of fuel: it's a surplus of government." Ronald Reagan.
"Politics, and the fate of mankind, are shaped by men without ideals and without greatness." Albert Camus.
"If you ever injected truth into politics you have no politics." Will Rogers.
Which leads me to the obvious questions.
Who is benefiting from this? Follow the money, as someone, somewhere is benefiting from this. Is it power or a cornering of assets? To quote FDR, this type of thing doesn't happen by accident. Was it planned? Who knows. They're either all incompetent or this was done deliberately. Neither is a particularly pleasant though. You decide for yourself. The Fed suddenly has more power. Governments suddenly own massive parts of financial industries and despite protestations to the contrary by right wing governments (Bush included) seem hell bent on buying up more....with our money. The governments have their populaces scared and looking to them for a magic bullet, meaning they can push their collective agendas and do pretty much what they want, and people are broke, so wont complain too much regardless of what they do. Is this 1933 again....look it up. Maybe it's just a way to hide the enormous profits made from the huge oil price spikes of the last 24 months, like they did with Enron etc. Is it that simple? It's probably a lot more involved than that, but you can be sure that this is no accident.
Bollocks, this sucks big time and we played right into their hands by falling for the cheap credit BS offered for the last 10 years. If we're that dumb collectively, I guess we deserve everything we get.

implosion and a con job
It's interesting watching this financial implosion happen. Well, interesting from the worst perspective of "Holy crap" and watching the governments of the world trying to reassure the people that things will be OK. What is obvious is that the banking system revolves around credit and therefore confidence. No confidence, no banking system. So, when things get this far out of whack, the governments of the world attempt to sooth and trick us to keep our confidence artificially high, while those in the know get their money out (as they did with Enron)....so it's a confidence job; a con. The government and the bankers have and are conning us. Don't people usually go to jail for that?
